Bloggerisms

I've been blogging for three months now and I love it! I was a lurker for a while, reading but never commenting. Then I started to comment. Then I started to blog. And I've 'met' so many really fun, really interesting people!

But I've also learned that I have a lot to learn! There are so many 'bloggerisms' to figure out. People tag and get tagged. There are blog memes. Thursday Thirteens. Stuff Portrait Fridays. HNT (and the more daring ...the other HNT). There are parent bloggers and mommy bloggers. Blog rings. Blog Talk Radio. Michele's Three Day Meet & Greet. And so much more.

I've not done any of these except the Meet & Greet (trust me, you don't want me doing HNT!!). But I've had a lot of fun learning about them. It is great to read what others say when they do these and interesting to see all the photos they share.

And I'm a parent. Sometimes I write about my kids. But I don't think of myself as a parent blogger cause I write more about me and my experiences...and sometimes that just happens to involve the kids.

Bottom line - I'm having fun. When I began, I wondered if I would write a week or two and then just fizzle. Lose interest. But damn, I find that my blog time - whether reading, writing, or both - has become a really nice part of my day! I look forward to it...and have a bit of withdrawal if I don't get it!!

So to all of you who have commented here and/or who write such great blogs that I visit all the time (and continue to discover more!)....THANK YOU! I love my new neighborhood!!

I do think of myself as your neighbor. I feel much the way you do. I get great enjoyment out of reading, writing and sharing with all the new friends I have made. I feel that I have grown and even learned sme new things about myself.

It took me a while to figure out what KGOY and ROFL and LMAO meant when I joined the blogging world.

Aren't we all part of one big family? That's what it feels like sometimes. I have my favourite bloggers whom I am sure if I knew personally, I would be friends with. Like you! *grin* Even though I only started visiting since last weekend (I think) I keep on coming back.

We're glad to have you in the 'hood. The day it ceases to be fun, time to quit, or at least a good long hiatus. I've been at it now for almost 2 years. Never a dull or un-fun moment yet.

Never feel obliged to fit into the molds that you find out there. Just be yourownself, ignore or politely decline any tags or other invitations or urgings that don't fit right. Do your own thang about your own thang. So far that is working just fine...

That's exactly how I feel about it!

I'm really enjoying reading about your adventures. I think you and I have the same mother (cooking from a box). Your post about mashed potatoes is a hoot!

Glad you're enjoying it. I started out with pretty much the same outlook of "see how long this will last". Now, three years later....

But what is HNT?? Do I even want to know?

Hi! I linked to you from Mir. This is a great post. I just started blogging about a week ago. Your post describes exactly how I feel!

I think I'll be checking back in with you!

I'm relatively new, too, and some of the bloggerisms (LOVE that word) elude me still. Oh well...its fun, and I have enjoyed it as much as you do. Just don't "tag" me, or "meme" me or anything, cuz I would be at a loss.
Hehe.

What I find interesting is people that seem intrigued by blogging, but do fade away quickly.

I have a coworker who started after she read mine, but just a few weeks later she "wasn't really into it anymore." I translated this to mean that she didn't like the effort it takes.

Hang in there.
Welcome to our secret little club.

Lets be glad that there are at least two of us that know better than to go HNT.

I thought the very same thing when I first started..."eh, I'll do it a couple of times and see what happens"...but I love it now! I love finding new blogs to read..like yours...and I love making all these new friends. And I can really say Friends cuz that what these people are to me, my friends. I know them, they know me...there's support and laughing, and ...I love it!

I'm so glad that I found you !

I started out as a writer blogger but I've found I can't limit myself that way and try to encompass the whole enchilada.

Glad you are having fun and enjoying it.

Oh, BTW, great game last night. Sorry about your loss.

LOL...Wizened Wizard may be on to something there with her 'addiction' theory!

For those of you who drop by all the time...it has been great getting to know you. And it does seem we sort of gravitate to people we would be friends with (Thanks Melody!) or people who write about similar life experiences.

Domestic, you threw me with that one...I know ROFL AND LMAO...I've never seen KGOY. What the heck is that???

And then there is the 'debate' between Chelle and Baron...HNT or no HNT. I'm gonna have to stick with Baron on this one...sorry Chelle. :)

Oh...abby...HNT means Half Nekkid Thursdays.

Now...can someone tell me what KGOY stands for????? :)

You've articulated my feelings exactly! Well done.

Can I be a wife blogger? Because I seem to write more about my husband and his generalized insanity than my children.

Or maybe I should be a self-blogger. Because I put the smack down on myself way more than anyone else.
