The Countdown Continues

I've been watching the pre-pregame coverage for 12 days now. Interviews with the coaches mothers. Analysis of how they grow grass on the field. And that wonderful special on which stadium has the best hot dog. I'm loving every minute of it.

What? Pregame to what? Surely you jest!

But just in case you missed it, the Super Bowl is this Sunday. And MY Patriots are playing. That's the PERFECT New England Patriots. They will be taking on the long-shot New York Giants. The two teams are just a short drive apart...and my house is just about dead center between the two stadiums.

Trust me, everyone around here has a serious opinion about how this thing is gonna turn out. We've been wearing our Patriots hats and our Giants jerseys and singing the Tom Brady theme song day and night.

But perhaps you don't care. Perhaps you don't live in the tiny corner of the US where these two teams reside. Maybe you live in Texas...or Minnesota...or Georgia. Anywhere but the New England area. And these two teams were just annoyances that got in your team's way this year.

Heck, perhaps you don't even like football. Though the mere thought of that is unsettling.

But if you are out there not caring...trust me, I'll be enjoying it enough for both of us!

Now I would review each game of their PERFECT season...and the beauty of the 3-4 defense...but I'm pretty sure highlights of previous Super Bowls will be on in a minute...followed by interviews with people who knew someone who had a cousin who actually attended a Super Bowl one time. Can't miss that!!

Or if you live in Europe, far north, in a little country, in a little town, this would be a thing you only have seen in american films... Quite exotic... Especially when football isnt on top of the list either..
But enjoy! Nothing's like looking forward to something you really like!!

I'm rooting for the Pats for the superbowl, but only for the reason that I don't want to go to Eagles games and hear about it from the stinkin' Giants fans.

I am that girl in georgia that really doesn't care. BUT a coworker made me choose a team yesterday and I'm rooting for the Patriots. Enjoy the game.

Joe - okay, we can call them OUR Patriots if that makes you feel better. :)

Whim - I still love ya even if you are rooting for the giants.

Tulip - give those boys a good dinner so they can stay up and root hard!

Anette - I suppose the whole thing is a bit bizarre to people outside the US.

Furious - an Eagles fan? Oh well, we take all comers.

Charlotta - it doesn't matter who made you choose, at least you made the right choice! :)

Enjoy the game!!! Personally, I'll be happy to be at work because I really don't care for football. *grin*

May the best team win! *wink*

I know I'm new to your blog, but I'm glad you're back. I checked in often after New Years to find you silent...

Cool gift for you wife. There's an episode called Signs and Wonders. A good friend of mine, Michael Childers, plays a preacher who handles snakes. Thought he was raised in a snake handling family, he's terrified of them. What tale's he told about shooting that.

Again, glad you're back!

I'm evil. Today is my birthday and the only thing I asked for is that there be NO Superbowl in my house.

Put Hubby in quite the conundrum. On one hand, the thought of hanging on to his wallet is appealing. On the other---wait--NO SUPERBOWL??????

He just left....methinks to find a jewelry store that is open on Sunday. Wait til he finds out I was only joking. ;-)

As I was at the gym on the treadmill I was forced to watch a special that tried to make out that Tom Brady was a Brady Bunch child. THere were interviews with Brady Bunch actors and clips of famous scenes, like the football to Marsha's nose, with TB pasted in. And ths was on ESPN!!!!!! It cannot be over soon enough. And I shudder to think how they paridioed Eli Manning.

Here to unsettle you: I'm not only in MN, I despise football.

But get this: in your honor I know enough to type this: Sorry for your bad evening, O Patriot Fan.

Maybe a little Guitar Hero will perk you up?

Sadly, it was not meant to be. I'll raise a toast to Eli in your honor. Next year: Broncos v. Seahawks. Thank you for asking, but no, I'm not smoking anything...

I'm sorry YOUR Patriots are no longer perfect. I like the Pats, but I was glad Eli Manning got his Super Bowl ring. Should I have kept that to myself??
