Let me be your hero!

I know, I've not written for a while. Bad blogger! But I've had to write so much for work that I was tired of writing. I wasn't totally absent. I've tried to visit your sites now and then. But sometimes leaving a comment was even more typing than I could manage. And some of you have written just to check on me...and I'm greatly appreciate that!

But while things at work left me not wanting to write, it didn't entirely stop me from having some fun. No way. I definitely needed some recreation and the kids have provided it. They have totally sucked me in and now I'm addicted.

That's right...I'm a Guitar Hero!

The kids have been playing this thing for months. Guitar Hero I and II. And of course, Rocks the 80's. I've watched from time to time...but it didn't have that much appeal. Until the finally talked me into trying just one song. They finally put that cherry red Gibson SG in my hands...and I was a rock star.

OMG! How is it possible to have that much fun without really playing the music? I don't know...but I did! Single player mode or multi-player mode. Choose your level and off you go, rocking the house with some awesomely hot licks. Iron Man. I Love Rock and Roll. Killer Queen. Free Bird. I can play them all!

Okay, so I mostly play on the Easy or Medium level while the kids are doing Expert, Career Mode, etc. Big deal. I can always play when they aren't around!

I don't own any leather pants and it has been years since I've had long hair. But don't let that stop you! Go ahead, throw your keys and your undies. Well, gentlemen, you can hang on to your undies! But you can still stand on your chair, hold up your lighters (or in these days, your cell phones), and enjoy the show!

But I promise to take a bit of time from my concert tour to write a bit more often in the future.

LOL I've never heard of this before. It does sound like fun. Glad you've found a new way to unwind from work!

Guitar Hero should not be as fun as it is. I always thought the idea sounded and looked lame. But... if I had it, I might be playing it right now. So I understand in part where you're coming from.

Rock the 80's is the best!

I only wish they had more hair bands...too bad they don't take requests.

I LOVE Guitar Hero!! Seriously!! To the point of obsession!!! In fact I'm hoping for Guitar Hero III for my birthday next week! Or maybe the 80's version!!

Ha-ha, oh my, that's some visual you've painted! I've never even heard of this thing, but it sure does sound fun..

Been wondering what you were up to. Never expected it to be World Tour '08. Being sans kids for many years now, I have no idea what you're talking about here, but I do understand that you are having fun. Fun is good. When you tire of that, come on back and share more of your chronicles with us...

I'm not sure how it's possible, but we haven't made the GH leap yet. Santa may help us out with that though this year. Not that I want to try it or anything. ;)

I'll keep this one quiet as I don't think anyone in this house has heard of it yet! :)
You can only be my hero if I know what you look like though and I don't remember seeing any photos... free bird...
good to see you back

I need to try Guitar Hero. Maybe I could be better at that than tennis.

My husband loves that game, and people love to play when they come over. I have yet to touch the guitar, because as you noted, it has no appeal to the watcher. Apparently I need to not touch it if I want to find time to sleep in a 24 hour day.

Shrink - I'll try to keep it quiet so it doesn't hook your family.

Winston - I'll make sure you get front row seats when I tour Tennessee.

Mamma - good luck with Santa.

Rainbow - oh my, the pressure! I've never revealed more than my wrist for fear of chasing away readers. But if you desire the visual, I'll see what I can do. :)

Catheroo and Star - grab that guitar and give it a try!

You've introduced me to a whole new world here.

Sounds like it trumps blogging anyday.

Oh no!!!! Not you too, Em!!!! My boys play that and always try to get me to play, but I'm afraid I'd get addicted! But they love it...

And there is a movie out on Guitar Hero which documents us middle age people unleashing our inner Hendrix!!!

I love guitar hero! The games now are brilliant. Who would have thought, 10 years ago when I was playing Mario and "jumping" by raising my hands with the control, that one day I would actually NEED to move my hands and body in order to get the full effect. I always told my mom video games would come in useful one day...

Oh good Gods! That is hilarious. :) In the store (Target, etc) the Guitar Hero display is THE place I know I will find LB if we get separated. LOL I may have to give in and buy it for his upcoming birthday.

You can be my hero, Em.

On a topic outside the virtual world...Big and I just saw Billy Joel with the kids last week. Saw him 21 years ago when I was a junior in high school. I'd say we've come full circle. Go 80s.

Love Billy Joel! I've seen him twice, also, and both times were great.

This is killing me because I bought it for my husband for Christmas and am having trouble waiting for it myself! He will be SHOCKED that I bought it because when he first mentioned it I said it sounded dumb and he hasn't talked about it since then.

Just the other night my older son and I watched a Southpark episode about this game. Doesn't much appeal to me, but if you're enjoying it, then rock on.

I imagine that would be hard, writing all day and then blogging. For me, coming into write is a relaxation. Fortunately there is no commute. Some people have that and I would have a hard time having to drive hours every day.
