But when we do, they stay for a week. Thats enough for all of us. We say: "Nice to see you come, and bloody lovely to see you go!" In a kind way of course. And they say the same after we leave their house after staying there for a week. My parents live in the same town as we do, I bet, if you add up the time we see eachother, it comes out to be about the same.Anettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09940389146191063398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3294578188079385391.post-86568247382661388892008-01-01T20:45:00.000-05:002008-01-01T20:45:00.000-05:00SOmetimes having the family close has it's advanta...SOmetimes having the family close has it's advantages - they only ever visit for a few hours at a time. Us, on the other hand, who have all our family over 3000k's away stay with us and (usually) too long. I felt as though I should maximize any time I had with them since it's usually only once a year I see them. More often than not though, I could be found in my room with a book or on the phone. I needed space and could only handle my family in small doses of time. Family: can't live with them, can't live without them.Charlotta-lovehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17694362692847403727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3294578188079385391.post-60709068049700415902007-12-31T23:43:00.000-05:002007-12-31T23:43:00.000-05:00Yes, we know the story well. But I agree having someone live in your house for a week can get old very fast. So does having to sleep at someone else's house even if you get along really well. We love them too, but there's only so much "walking farts" from Grandma, nose picking from Grandpa, overall non-showering lack of hygeine, and lack of table manners of both that we can take. The sheets are going into the "sanitize" cycle in just a few minutes. Who cares if we use all the hot water in Seattle. We have guests coming tomorrow night, and I won't have them smell traces of the grandparents. :)

Love them, but 3 days is about my max-out.
